Delirium Words is an independently maintained editorial website. Professor Alasdair MacLullich is the data controller for personal information handled directly by the site. There are no public accounts, comments, contact form or newsletter sign-up.
Analytics and consent
Optional Google Analytics 4 is used to understand which pages are read and how the site is used. Analytics storage is denied by default and the analytics tag is loaded only after you choose Accept. Consent is the lawful basis for this optional processing. If you do not consent, analytics remains off.
What analytics may receive
After consent, analytics may receive the page address and title, referral information, approximate location, and browser, device and interaction information. Do not submit confidential or patient-identifiable information through this site.
Retention
User-level and event-level data in this standard Google Analytics property is retained for no more than 14 months. Standard aggregated reports may remain available for longer. The first-party dw_consent choice remains in your browser until you change it or clear the site’s stored data.
Withdraw or change consent
Use the persistent Cookie settings button at the lower-left of the page to reopen the choice. Choosing Decline stores a denied preference and stops future analytics loading. Cookie settings removes that preference and reloads the page so you can choose again. You may also clear this site’s stored data and Google Analytics cookies through your browser settings.
Hosting and technical records
The site is hosted by 10Web and WordPress. Hosting and security systems may process technical records such as IP address, browser details and request times to deliver, secure and diagnose the service. Those operational records are retained according to the host’s security and service settings.
If you email a.maclullich@ed.ac.uk, the message and address are used to handle the enquiry and retained only as long as needed for that purpose and any necessary record of the response.
